Girls Weekend Re-Cap

I know I am a day late with my weekend re-cap. So so sorry. But once I got home on Sunday, I still had the normal Sunday errands to prepare me for the week. But today we get to focus on the amazing girls weekend that was filled with sun, fun and lots of laughs. Check it out:

We left Thursday morning and headed to Horseshoe Bay which is in the Texas Hill Country. B-E-A-U-TIFUL! When we got to the hotel, we headed straight for the pool & Yacht Club Marina. Getting in the water before the sun went down was our top priority!
That night we did dinner and walked around the property checking out the place.
Fast forward through our slumbers, most of Friday was spent in Frederickberg, TX. Should you have a love of wine, this is the place to be. They have Vineyards & Wineries for tastings & tours available and the views are breathtaking and the wine is pretty good as well. I mean who could turn down a sweet Texas Red? We went did 3 wine tastings and 1 tour. We also stopped by this amazing place called das Peach Haus which sells amazing jellys/jams/preserves/salsas/dips. And they have it all out for you to sample. Lets just say lunch was served.
And of course when we got back to the hotel, only one thing was on our minds again....
Swimming & Glow In The Dark Line Dancing. That's right. This place was like Dirty Dancing with all the activities throughout the hotel. And glow in the dark line dancing is one we did not want to miss. I would like to think we started the party as we may have been the first ones busting moves on the lawn, but it wasn't until we met some 12-13 year old girls on vacation that I felt like I was in the movie Now & Then. They thought they were the bees knees because they were hanging out with a bunch of 30 year olds. That's right, they thought we were 30! I think the exact statement was, "Yeah, yall look young, like 30". I am sorry. I am still claiming mid-twenties and these girls were trying to rush me into my early thirties. Not cool.
Basically they wanted to be like us when they grew up and take girls trips. Forward to Saturday where we headed to Llano, TX where we spent most of the day on the Llano River soaking up rays and sliding down chutes. It was probably my favorite thing we did.
And once we left there, we ended right where we started the trip...pool time!

Can I go back pah-leasssse?

Burning Calories, Giggle Style!

So I do not have a weekend re-cap just yet dear friends. Although it was just about the best girls weekend and I have loads of pictures to share with you. It will have to wait. But while you wait, let me help you burn some calories while you chuckle...

"A hearty guffaw will burn more calories than a nervous titter, but researchers at Vanderbilt University found adults burn an average of 1.3 calories per minute while laughing with their friends."

{via}
So laughing is not going to burn the calories from that cookie you just ate, but it does have a lot of benefits and makes you & the people around you feel better inside! Besides telling very armature & silly jokes and laughing at myself, which happens a lot, SomeEcards really tickles me through out the day. They are everywhere now and some are just too good not to pass up. Here are a few of my favorites:

...and my most recent favorite...

Ok, that's all for now. Byeeee!

Oh Hey! I'm Still Alive - Weekend Update

So the past 2 weeks have been a blur for me. I have been moving a mile a minute, trying to get some goals in place for myself and getting ready for this weekend coming up. GIRLS TRIP-HOLLA! Because I have been so busy, I have been a little neglectful of le blog but trust I am on top of it!

As far as the weekend, there is not much to update you on. For the past 2 weekends I have been laying low. Like real low. Like in movie theaters, in my bed, in the gym type of low. Trying to rest, relax and get myself ready for the next few months.

First thing thing taking up my time is this series:
I am not much of a reader as in I don't. And I really really want to be a reader, so I decided that I am making myself read 1 hour every night. I already saw the first movie of the Hunger Games so I thought this would be a good place to start. The first book {because I saw the movie} was a pretty easy & quick read. Now that I am into the second book I can't keep my nose out of it. I really hope once I am done with this series that I can find another book that keeps my interest up! (Any suggestions?)

Another kinda big deal to me that I am working on is training for the San Antonio Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon. It was my goal at the beginning of the year to make this a top priority. So far I have done a few smaller races:
Dallas Hot Chocolate 5k - February 11, 2012

Firefly Run 5k - March 31, 2012

Warrior Dash 3.24 hellish miles - April 21, 2012

WISH ME LUCK!

I did also see this bad boy:

I will say, I think the past Batman Movies have been alright. Really great action packed movies. I enjoy them for the most part. But this one blew.my.mind. It was so good! I recommend it.
Side note: My cute mother told me not to go see it because of the shootings in Colorado (so sad by the way!) but I had already purchased my ticket for Saturday morning. She was a little relieved to know it was during the day time, but still had me call her before the movie and also after. Gotta love her :)

Now I have to somehow figure out how to hold my excitement until Wednesday at 5 PM. That's right, it's a 3-day work week for me then I am off to the hill country with some of my favorite girls to sip some wine, sun bathe and take lots of pictures :) WAHOO!

If you really knew me....

I saw this post up by Stephanie and how cute was she to do one for herself and then let Beau guest post his own "If you really knew me". So fun! I thought I would let you in on some fun facts about me, although I am sure you already got a lot of this from reading my blog already!

If you really knew me...

...you would know that I don't drink caffeine but have tons of energy. I really don't know where it comes from!

...you would know that I am such a Mommas girl. God, I love that woman! She is my most favoritest person in the whole wide world!

...you would know that I love water. To drink it, to swim in it, I am an Aquarius ya know!

...you would know that I like to cry. I think it's healthy to let it all out some times.

...you would know that my favorite chill thing to do is see movies.

...you would know that I am addicted to chap stick. Not lip gloss or balm or lip stick. Just good 'ol chap stick.

...you would know that I love a good frozen treat. Ice cream, slushies, fro-yo & especially Popsicles.

...you would know that I will probably introduce you and another person like 10 times before I finally remember, you have met before.

...you would know that I love anything out doors. Except bugs. Sick.

...you would know that I was named after the lady on Bewitched that twinkles her nose.

Yes, I was named after a witch.
Well that's me if you really knew me ;) Now how much of that did you really know?
Happy Hump Day!

Exactly what I needed...

...was this weekend. With no set plans. Relaxed, slow paced and easy going. It was great. And no, I did not spend the weekend in my bed, this girl cannot sit at home and do nothing for more than a couple hours. But I did get to hang out with a bunch of friends I haven't seen in a while and saw a couple four movies. Please join me for my:

Friday Night
I got off of work and watched a Netflix that came in the mail.
{via}
It was okay. Not the best. Was released in 2010 so a little older. But then a bunch of us went for dinner & drinks at this bar called Malarkey's Tavern. What I would like to think as a very standard Irish Pub, only they had beer flights & $5 pizzas! It was the bomb dot com. Although I did not partake in the beer or pizza, I really want to go back because I love FLIGHTS! They are like my favorite thing ever because a) they are super cute b) I don't like to pay to try new things because I am picky & what if I don't like it? and c) I am the most indecisive chick ever, so I love that I get options people!
Then we went to meet up with the Kickball folk. I love these people. They know how to party. Just look at shot block. Shes a beauty!

Saturday
Woke up for an early morning run. Not early enough. It was hot and sticky and not fun. But what made great was an angel was sent to my door. Insert friendly wonderful maid who cleaned my house from top to bottom while I sat there. My house is sparkling and smells glorious! {side note, this is the first time I have ever had a maid. It was a one time only, deep clean my house please & thank you kind of a deal}

That afternoon me and the rooms {roommate people!} went to see the new Katy Perry movie. It was really cute! Came home ate some supper and decided it was a good night for some fro-yo. I think I died when I was sampling and came across "Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel". OMG heaven in my mouth.
That night I was beyond exhausted and decided to cuddle up in bed and rent Mirror Mirror. I almost didn't make it through the movie because I was super tired, but it was also super cute! Gotta love Julia Roberts...

Sunday
Sunday is always a lazy day for me, but I woke up bright and early again for another run and the rain the night before made the weather so much more enjoyable then the previous day. I like to explore a lot when I run to find new places and beautiful sites. Sometimes I even find scary ally ways that I decided to sprint down :)
Followed by heading to see The Amazing Spider Man. Now I guess I didn't know what I thought I was seeing, but I was real bored for the first hour of the movie because it was almost identical to the first Spiderman. I guess I thought it was going to start where the last one finished, but it didn't. Later it was explained to me that it is kinda like Batman now where they just keep redoing the series but with different people and different endings. Whatev is all I have to stay. But once the action started about halfway through, I was reeled back in. It was really good and I love me some Emma Stone.

And of course ended with a good ol' polish change.
e.l.f. Teal Blue + e.l.f. Fairy Dust. This is a bad picture, but it basically looks like a speckled egg during Easter but with Gold Flakes. Real Cute :)

Hope your weekend was just as relaxing, Have a great week everyone!
